Supportiv: The Anonymous Support Group App

Anonymous group support is now available right from your phone thanks to the new mental wellness app, Supportiv, which just became available on the App Store and Google Play. You don’t need to provide your personal information to get started with the app. Just type a sentence about what you’re feeling, and you will be matched with a moderated group of up to 10 people who are going through something similar. The cost is only 15 cents per minute and you can try it for free using a code available in the app. Supportiv has helped over 48,000 users feel less stressed, lonely, angry, sad, anxious and depressed.

Really cool features:

“What’s going on?”

Don’t have the words for how you are feeling? No worries! The app makes it super easy to report how you are feeling or what you are currently struggling with… including topics such as relationship, work, school, family, pet, boss, and life. For each topic (e.g. “family”), the app provides possible feelings associated with the selected topic, both positive (e.g. “appreciated”) and negative (e.g. “restricted”).

“Do the Magic” button

After creating a sentence of how you are feeling, with a click of a button, the app matches you with a moderated group of people who are having similar experiences. This allows for anonymous peer support, which I think is a really awesome way to feel connected and supported!

The “Related Content” tab:

App provides content relevant to your reported feelings, such as helpful or motivational:

  • Quotes
  • Videos
  • Articles
  • Music

The “Analytics” tab:

Word cloud:

Provides a quick visual of your inputs, such as if you have had used the app for work issues, relationship troubles, or felt a certain way (i.e. negative)

Emotion tracking feature:

There is another quick visual of how you have reported feeling over the past 30 days, as well as a day-by-day report of your feelings

Emergency Feature

On the bottom of the screen, there is a button for “Having an emergency?” This instantly lists numbers, including: 911, the national suicide prevention hotline, the national domestic violence hotline, and the national sexual assault hotline.
