My photo campaign aims to get people to open up about their “illness”, to not be ashamed of it… but to accept that their differences make them unique and beautiful. NOT “ill”. 🙂
My “mental ILLNESS” makes me “me”.
Makes me an overachiever.
Makes me extremely motivated.
Makes me thrive on stress rather than dragged down by it.
Makes me abnormally in control of my emotions (well…. while not in a manic or depressed state).
I don’t think I am “sick”.
I think that my “condition” makes me ‘different’, sure,
but that is what makes me an exceptional student,
and maybe even a better person.
[This was written during a time that I was not accepting that bipolar disorder is really a devastating illness… probably during a hypomanic/manic state]
